I need to buy a throttle body for my '05 CLK500 Coupe. Everytime I try and order one from MB, they ask for the VIN number of my car. Since I don't want to give it to them, I need to find another place to buy it from. Any ideas where I can get a throttle body besides the dealer? Also, anyone know how much its gonna approximately cost? Thanks.

Maybe you could try going to cars.com or autotrader.com and find a similar CLK 500. Many of them list their VIN number so that you can do a CARFAX. Use one of those VIN numbers to call your local Mercedes Dealer.

I can't imagine that your dealer cares if the VIN is from your car or not - I would imagine it just helps them find the part in their system ??
