Stock Exhaust Question

On the stock exhaust/muffler on the CLK500's is there a resonator on it? If there is has anyone tried taking it off and if so how does it sound? Thanks in advance for your help.

The resonator is located in between the muffler and secondary catalytic converters. If I remember correctly, it is located a foward of the rear wheels. Its a silver bulge thats about 2 feet in length. It gives the car a slightly louder and more aggressive V8 noise. You can also hear a little bit more popping. I think its worth the $60 or so.
