Performance

Do you guys know the performance status on the Clk550's? I'm curious how it holds up with m3's, clk55's, etc. It has a bigger v8 engine but can it hold it's ground?

any experiences?

Good question. With 382 horses is should be able to hang with an M3 or CLK55 engine-wise but it may be lacking in handling somewhat... I don't have any experience but have the same question as you as I'm considering replacing my '04 CLK 500 eventually with a CLK550 or CLS550... I can get them at Employee Discount because my wife works for an MBZ dealer...

i haven't driven the clk500 before but i'm so amazed by the 550. i wasn't thinking of buying a clk since i still have 3 months left on my 04 s430, before i turn it in. this car is such an awesome car. i've already put 1100 miles on it in 2 weeks. how much is the lease on an actual employee discount? i bargained my dealer so low that they told me i'm getting the car at employee price. i put down $3800 and i'm paying $508/month + tax. it comes out to exactly $550 a month/12k miles a year/36months. i got them to throw in tints as well. the car has only the premium 1 package. it's pretty basic but with the amg look and the 382hp engine, i'm more then satisfied.
