Help!

I'm really want to get peoples opinions on getting a CLK. I'm like the CLK, but I don't know whether to get the 320 or the 500. I know I don't need a V8 engine, but the main reason for getting a 500 is the appearance. On the CLK 320, I don't particularly like the wheels(rims), and I would add the appearance package to it. But then I do not like the pattern aluminum trim on the inside(instead of the burl walnut trim), that comes with the appearance package. I don't think the aluminum trim would go good w/ stone leather...do you guys agree? And if I tell the dealer that I want the appearance package, but don't add the aluminum trim(keep the burl walnut trim)...would they do that? So, has anyone seen a CLK 320 w/ the appearance package?

So that's why I think I may consider the CLK 500. I like the AMG wheels, but I'm a 21 year old girl, who prolly won't make any good use of a V8 engine.

So any help would be greatly appreciated!

stephanie

What about getting a CLK320 and then get aftermarket wheels. You can find the original AMG wheels much cheaper at tire rack that you would pay at the dealer. At the same time you wood keep the wood grain trim (which does look better than brushed aluminum) by going this route.

BTW, where do you live, may be I can help you find the wheels

I just order my clk 320 with k3, k4 and appearance package...I like the pattened aluminum trim...that makes the car looks sporty and yonger...by the way, for only $1050 you can get a set of 17 in wheels w/ z-rated tires, clk 500 exhaust tip, aluminum pedals and trim...I think it sounds pretty good deal, right?...and it's a plus for resale too...

You're right aware of your needs, young lady.
ask the dealer to swap the rims for you, probably for free 16".
or paid the upgrade 17" AMG rims.
pickup the interior (burl walnut trim) you want, this's an option
for an Mercedes CLK.

THANK YOU FOR EVERYONE'S RESPONSE... ONE MORE QUESTION THOUGH...DOES THE BODY LOOK THE SAME BETWEEN THE 320 AND 500? I KNOW IN THE PAST, ON THE 320 THE SIDE SKIRTS WERE NOT PAINTED AND JUST LEFT AS BLACK, AND THEN ON THE 430 THE CAR LOOKS LOWERED AND THE SIDE SKIRTS ARE DIFFERENT. IS THIS THE SAME FOR THE 2003 CLK CARS? IS THE MAIN DIFFERENCE(IM TALKING ONLY ABOUT EXTERIOR)BETWEEN THE 320 AND 500 IS THE MUFFLER AND THE WHEELS?

THANKS AGAIN,
STEPHANIE

2004 C320
Appearance wise, the 500 has the AMG body kit with sculpted side skirts and a more aggressive front spoiler. It really makes the car look much sportier. I am sure you can eventually buy the AMG kit and put it on the 320, but you will end up paying almost the same as a stock 500. The 500 will definitely cost more in gas per year, and perhaps your insurance, but you get all the appearance you want from the beginning.

not really.....

a CLk 320 with k3 and k4 is about 51000 out the door
a CLK 500 with k3 and k4 is about 60000 out the door

difference = 9000

AMG bodykit = 1500
19" rim = 1500

9000-3000 = 6000

so buying a clk320 still saves 6000
