2003 clk 320 passenger low beam problem

A friend of mine is constantly having a problem with her passenger side low beam not working. Not the bulb. Just intermintent. Seams to happen after she has her car washed, but other times too. Anyone had a similar problem?

I had the same problem on my 2003 320, but it was on the driver's side. I had it serviced under warranty 4 times. They tried new bulbs, changed the ignitor, fuses, etc. It would work fine for a while, and then it would go back to operating intermittently again. The problem would most often occurr in the morning or when the car had been off for more than a few hours. I could usually cycle the lights on and off several times, and it would eventually cut itself on.

The 5th time I took it in, I noticed the light wasn't working when I picked the car up. I asked for the service manager and he went ahead and replaced the entire headlight assembly. I didn't have any problems after that.

just took my 03 clk 500 in for the drivers side LB cutting out. they replaced some "xenon blah blah blah"... ill check out the paperwork and talk to them to see what exactly they replaced. when i talked to the service dude about it he didnt say anything about it being common or not. i imagine that it is just one of the many electrical problems these models are know for.

Thanks for the input. She's so frustrated she's about to trade it in.
