Serious Question???
About a month ago, I decided to sell my car to purchase my first house. It was a very tough decision, I absolutely love my car. So I decided to post it on here. After about a week or two with out as much as a comment, I finally gave in and sold it to CarMax for $25,500. I would have sold this car to somebody who I knew for sure would have kept this car immaculate as I did, with only 31,500 miles (it was a weekend car for me, which i used only every other weekend when i wasn't in NYC) and was 100% stock with new tires. My question is simple, why? Why was my thread read more then 60 times but not even a response? I guess somebody missed out on a great deal, I was willing to negotiate a serious deal, or maybe it was the color combination . Nonetheless, it's sold and now I can start the process of purchasing that house. Wish me luck.
BTW, my next car will more then likely be another Mercedes, this time a V8...I loved the 6, but with all these AMG's out there, who could resist that need for speed. Oh, and it has to be a hardtop convertible.

I was one who looked at your message. Maybe if you had said - "I'm about to sell to CarMax for $25k..." then you may have gotten a response. I am personally not quite ready to buy yet. I had a similar situation with my last car, an '01 BMW 325i. I got very little money for it - way under what the blue book trade-in price was. It's a buyers market, I guess.

I can think of several reasons:
1. You said, "I am selling my cherished love". Some people would think this is a car that you have taken good care of (which is probably what you meant), others however may think you are emotionally attached and place a higher value than the normal market value.
2. "Please don't waste my time..." While this may keep away the true low-ballers, some legit buyers may be scared away.
3. Pewter may not be the most popular color out there.
4. Many people here already have a Mercedes and may not be in the market for one. Many of the 60 ppl may have opened the message to see if it was going to be a steal (which is usually fairly rare).
6. People located far from you may have general concerns buying a second hand car remotely.
