Day time running lights

what is day tiome running lights?
are they the lights that turn on automatically or what?

i heard the lights used are the foglights rigt?

anf lets say i change my foglights to brabus quad foglights...will it affect my day time runnging lights?

any help will be appreciated

daytime running lights, are the headlights that automatically turn on during the day. supposed safety feature, to allow uncoming drivers to see you better.

Day time running are lights are your normal low beams, running at half power (full if xenon), even if the switch is set to "off". They are always on while the car is running.

If the new CLK has a system similar to the W203, you can select/deselect this option via the wheel buttons.

I believe Canadian models are hard-set so you can not defeat it.
(well, without going through some trouble)

New CLK has daytime running lights, but is programmable and you can turn them off to jsut turn on automatically at night.....or you can do it all manually.
