My CLK isn't scheduled to come in until the end of next month, so I can't speak directly to the alignment problem on your 500.
However, if you are continually having to take your car in to be realigned because it pulls in a given direction, know that one possibility is the tires. If one of your tires has a bad tread, this will cause you car to pull.
I had this problem on a new car I bought back in '97. Took it in to be aligned several times. The problem was finally solved when someone suggested that I check the tires. Lo and behold, I changed the tire, and the problem was solved.
Hope this helps....and good luck with fixing the problem. Keep us posted.

I also had my CLK-500 aligned 1 hour after I picked it up. The alignment was straight but the steering wheel was off center. After two attempts problem was solved and car is just fine. I have those noisy wipers, that is my only gripe.
I had a similar experience with my car. Its nothing that really bothers me, as its only a slight problem. But when i take my hands off the wheel while driving on a straight road, sometimes, it will lean to the right a little.
Next time I'm home, I'll have it checked out. Do you guys think its the kind of process that can be done in 1 day?

well....i'm going in for a third attempt this week at correcting the problem. shop foreman agrees that a benz should track straight. I also noted after the second attempt that the handling became very "darty" with constant steering correction both right and left on flat straight highway...very annoying. ill let you know the outcome.

well, i got the problem solved!!!! It only took 3 trips to dealer to have it fixed, but now it tracks PERFECTLY! handles like a dream!
had to have minor toe adjustment to finish it off, and have the steering wheel centered.
happy motoring,

oh yeah, i forgot.....
the alignment process takes approx. 90 minutes, if toe adjustment and steering wheel adjustment are all that is needed. if you need caster and camber bolts installed and adjusted, it takes 4-5 hours at best, and i'd plan on making a follow up trip or two to the dealer if my experience is any indication.
