Huh, I could be most of yer's dad. Maybe I am. I'm 67 (yeah, if I'd known I'd live this long, I'd-a taken better care of myself). First post, so here's the history (if ya get bored, quit reading): Past 24 years my daily driver has been our '87 Volvo 740GLE 4 speed OD (only 168k miles), while the wife got all the new cars. Mundane, yes, but since I smoke cigars in the car, it worked, and it was near perfect shape ('specially the cigar aroma). Only drove it 20 miles a day last 10 years. Plus, the old gal was torquey and I could lay a nice strip off the line. Rev and dump... got a good laugh when ricers got left at the light by an old 4-door 4-cyl sedan. How very childish of me. Of course they blew past me when they finally woke up.

Then last month an acquaintance had this '04 CLK500 coupe with 30k miles that he wanted to sell because he "was getting too old for the small car". He's like 70, or something. I got a good deal.
Hehe, dayum, this thing is fun! I miss my stick shift cars, but I can always play with the faux-shifter. My mileage ain't what it used to be... now it's 16 -18, all city, used to get 22-24 in the Valvo. Must be a rightfoot issue. This car makes me giggle like a little girl. again.

Worked out good, 'cause I didn't want a convertible. For wind in my (our) hair, wife and I ride Harleys (FLHRI, FLHTCSE) about 10k miles a year. In our younger years we had TR3s, A-H 100-6, trucks, MG 1100, an I-H Scout, Honda bikes, a '52 Henney-Packard hearse, and other 'things'. Now, the wife loves her R320 CDI "The Tank" (car, not wife).
Only mod on the CLK so far is K&N filters, like the bikes, so I have a supply of cleaner and oil. Looking to make the exhaust sound like the V8 it is...just a bit more rumble...like the Harley...uh, maybe not that much. Just ordered LED parking lights from AZN Optics; waiting to see how they look. Hate the creepy yellow bulbs in there now. Gotta tint the windows, too. 19" wheels in the future. maybe. It really doesn't look bad stock. (no flames, please)

I've been lurking on this board and others for a while, looking at the pictures of all the bad CLKs you have. Mine is Irridiculous Silver with Ash interior; 'ash', (I'm not supposed to smoke cigars in this car, but I do, with the windows open. and don't use the car's ashtray.
OMG..blah, blah! Sorry! ATB to y'all. I don't post much, 'cause I'm old, but I sponge tons 'o free info. Very valuable, thank you!

CLK Coupe W209 200K
24 - new to the board and working for Daimler Financial Services here in Germany.

Bought my CLK 200K '04 at 01. Sept. Rims etc will come next year - as I noticed the parts for the car are much cheaper in US than in Germany... and we have the Technical Control Board - so there are many restrictions for our cars.

I have to admit that I got kinda jealous when I saw all the great looking CLKs you have over there ;-)

cheers

48 here. When I turned 40 I got the G35 coupe which everyone said was my midlife crisis car. Now with the recent convertible purchase I guess I'm still having it!

CLK 500
Hey,

Okay so these are some of the photos of my CLK.. Sorry they're crap. Um I want to do it up but still keep it very clean and not over the top. Im having trouble finding good rims for the tyres, can anyone recommend anything in Australia? Um also the tyres are stock, Im not sure how many inches stock tyres are though, do you think bigger ones would look better..? Also what about tinted windows on the convertible, yes or no. I guess it would look stupid having the rear window clear and the rest of the windows dark..
Also I want to tune it, make it quicker. How much quicker could i make the already V8?

2003 CLK 320
posted already but i turned 23 two weeks ago.
owned the car when i was 18. 5 years and approaching the 100k mark. still kicking although with some minor bumps in the road. looking to own this car for a long time. still turns heads and will always turn heads because the CLK is such a timeless style.

dont think it will ever go out of style. (hopefully)
