2003 S500
Turned 23 in June...
My question is how many of you paid for it yourself? (or make payments on the car and insurance)
In my opinion that is a great indicator of who actually owns these cars. No flaming please I just think its a fair question. (sh*t if I could get a Benz from my parents who am I to complain)

31, Once I sell one of my vehicles. I want to mild mod the CLK with Brabus. Trying to track down the exhaust system, suspension and the brake upgrade.

54.........when I was 18 I had a Corvette and saw a old man my age now driving one just like mine and thought that he could not appreciate the car he had... like I could. I was wrong at 54 I appreciate it MORE and it's paid for. By the way I bought the Corvette when I was 18 and didn't have a pot to **** in, and surely didn't have a window to throw it out.

I'm 72. Took delivery of a CLK in Germany while attending the German 300SL Club eV meeting in Stuttgart in June. This is the third M-B in the garage and the 8th to pass thru.
Remember, to grow old is mandatory, to grow up is optional !

Finance and making my own payments...Love it every minute since then... cant wait for the spring to come around so i can do some mods to it... hate to do anything to it in the winter.... winters in NJ aint the best time to mod a car, cant flash it around as much LoL

Tho, some you you might call me "old, I too think the stock CLK is a bit conservative. I'm doing new wheels and a mild drop to compensate

22- CLK500 2003- Bought it for myself a bit after 21st Bday
Bought the car after 21st bday with a friend who has a car wholesaling business- went to Manheim PA and chose the nicest one!
The car is great, and I am the biggest car nut on earth-
unfortunately, yesterday, my worst nightmare...
the last 8 months or so (warranty expired in July) I have noticed a subtle shake at low RPMs and also in 5th gear around 2k rpms- brought it to the dealer while it was still under warranty.
yesterday, get into the car in the aftn. and the check engine light was on, car wouldnt get out of 1st gear...
after praying this coolant leak/transmission contamination issue wasnt a concern, i suspect it will be...
I have had it at 2 different dealers (prior to this occuring, also while it was under warranty) regarding "check coolant level" and also the subtle shake mentioned above. Neither picked up on it back then...
Hopefully we can work it out promptly and for less than $8,000.00 because I will be the brokest CLK500 driver around if that happens!!
Will keep you all posted... worst case, I will end up at corporate HQ in NJ and I am certain that some one will help me to resolve matters quickly.
PS: I also believe my CLK500 is the nicest one in the country- best color combination and it has 18/staggered wheels from CLS55 with Pirelli PZero Nero tires... looks really good- pewter/dark silverish on black interior...
I would post pictures if I could figure out how to!!
Ah now i see how to! Check it out for yourself, let me know what you all think.
Mike
