2003 CLK 500
That's just wrong. Mobil 1 comes in many different viscosities. For instance, I used synthetic 10w-60 on my old M3. I couldn't find the CLK 500 on Mobil 1's website, but when I did a search for CL 500 with the same engine, the first oil listed is synthetic 10w-30:
10W-30 -4° F to 50° F
You can use Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™ 10W-30 with confidence. This viscosity is also available in Mobil Drive Clean Oil™ and Mobil Drive Clean Synthetic Blend™.

2003 CLK 500
this is very confusing....i lifted the hood, and it has a sticker that states to use mobil 1, however has no parameters as to super-syn, or drive clean, etc. it also does not list recommended weight of oil.

Check your owner's manual for the grade of oil to use. 10w30 should cover most temperature ranges. The range of -4 to 50F for 10w30 is wrong on their website. Mobil 1 also has a 10w50 for hotter climates.

Mercedes is using 0W-40 from the factory and dealers are also supposed to have it in stock. If I did this right, the Mobil 1 link is:
http://www.prod.mobil1.com/index.jsp[/URL]
Go to this link, select Mobil 1 Products, then select Mobil 1 with SuperSyn, and finally select 0W-40 for the details.
Unfortunately, this oil is hard to find at most Mobil 1 retailers and is generally more expensive than the usual weights.
