clk 500 2003
why buy a merc clk
i bough my clk 500 cause i though it had the best balance of
speed -
will get to 0 to 60 in 6 seconds
comfort -
just love cruising on the motorways
badge -
apart from maybe a Porsche,Ferrari etc, it gives the best impression
looks -
there's not many things that u will park beside and look at and say, god that puts my car to shame

one thing mercedes does well is underestimating numbers. 0-60 numbers are always better than what they state. i think some guy on the amg E forum got 0-60 in 3.9 secs in his e63. (think they claim 4.3 or something).

I can live with that. Remember this conversation when you are 60 years old. Yes Dear.
I had a Corvette and a Lexus IS 350 and two $7000 bicycles. I think she is good to me too. What goes around comes around.
Aloha,
Happily married Larry

just pulling your leg there larry!
i only hope to be able to provide for my lady in that fashion when i'm older.
kudos
back on topic, i think comfort is the largest plus with this car.
coming from a celica to a clk... there is nothing like smooth sailing.
though these LA roads are against me, i avoid riding cracks as much as possible.

She always commented on how nice the CLKs were. Would you believe I took in her 2001 MB 320 for service and saw the 2005 CLK 320. I thought she would look good in it so I bought and took it home to her. She deserves it. After all she put up with me all these years!

CLK 500 Cabriolet and A160L
Additional reasons:
- not too many 4 seat convertibles
- especially with a V8 engine
and anyway, I only look at German cars, with the exception of the Continental GTC (Bentley) and the Drophead Coupé (Rolls-Royce).
