Question on UK insurance

any idea how much it would cost for an under 25? (23 to be accurate)...

Currently my x5 is £2000 - as a named driver, £7000 otherwise.

So wondering if it would be cheaper or the same for a CLK. just rough figures is good enough...

CLK 320 ('05)

Hey, peacemf.

I'm 23, UK resident, taking delivery of my CLK 320 next Friday, can't wait!!

My details are as follows:
  • Age: 23
  • Licence Held For: 5 years
  • Convictions: 1 x SP30 (speeding, 3 points )
  • Claims: 1 (under dispute, so counts as being my fault at the moment)
  • NCD: 2 years
  • Address: Live in good area
  • Occupation: Journalist (one of the worst jobs you can have for insurance!!)
    PRICE: £1150 with Direct Line
Superb price, considering my age and the engine size - CLK 320 is group 18!

And, if the claim is settled in my favour and I get my 5 years NCD back, then my insurance will drop to about £750!!!

No-one else could touch that - Bell quoted me £1300 on one of the price comparison websites - all the others were £2000+, some as high as £4000, most wouldn't even insure.

Would really recommend Direct Line - the only catch is that they won't cover the car for any theft-related claim unless it has a tracker fitted and they're not cheap.

Nice to see other young CLK drivers out there!!!

Hope that helps.
