Radio Question

I was wondering if the sound system in the car automatically adjusts to the noise level in the car. It appears as if I am at a stop or approaching to stop, the volume of the sound system appears to get softer. Has anyone noticed this? Is this some kind of feature? I can't seem to locate anything in the owners manual regarding this. Thanks

I think it is, and it doesn't seems to be working very well. On my wifes ML, I can clearly hear the volume being decreased as the speed slows down, same way every time. On my CLK, it seems Mercededs tried to be a bit more clever, as the ammount of volume compensation seems to differ depending if you have the sun roof open or other, etc. Unfortunately it doesn't work very sell, and i found the volume being changed to my disliking sometimes a random bases. I wished Mercedes would have stayed with a simpler approach as on the ML.

Cheers, Johan
