Hello Benz drivers, my name is Justin and I am a new member here. I only joined because I wanted advices on buying a Mercedes Benz CLK from the CLK owners like you. It's actually my friend who is thinking of buying a used CLK. He's looked at several on autotrader and found a few that we might go check out.
He's budget is basically under 25g, lower the better. And mileage should be lowest possible. And it has to be +04 and must be clean.

If there are any cars available that you guys know, let me know. I am from so. California.

and also, what are some of the things to look for when going to check out a used CLK? Thanks in advance

Justin

STFF. This question has been asked many times, and I answer it the same way everytime. My advice is don't do it. The reason why you're buying a used one is because you can't afford a new one (there's nothing wrong with that), but you will find that there will be a lot of things wrong with your car that you don't have the money to fix. I had a 2003 CLK500 that I got rid of due to all of the mechanical problems it developed. Repairs would have cost more than $15,000 if there was no warranty. As soon as it was out of warranty I got rid of it. Keep in mind that is probably the same reason the person you are buying from is selling it. If you decide to do it anyway make sure you have a warranty, and if you have an aftermarket warranty make sure they will actually pay for a claim, as some will do anything in their power to get around that.

P.S. There's nothing ballin' about buying a car less than $25K.

being a clk owner for about 4-5 months(and i really have tested the engine & handling), i have to say not a sniff of a problem, from what i read of clk reviews before i bought mine they are very reliable.

i have had my 03 320 since april and have had two minor problems, as soon as i got it the SRS light came and dealer had it fixed at MB dealer. Now my bearings - passenger side rear are humming on me and i'm getting those done at my next oil change. They are only $30 per side from autohausaz.com and my friend is putting them in for me so its nothing major at all. I did purchase an aftermarket warranty to cover all major components and a lot of little things. def suggest getting some type of warranty these cars can get expensive. good luck on your search and i hope your or your boy find the right toy. Trade in that Honda bro.
