South Florida Auto Show

Just got back from the show. There were 2 CLK's. A black on black CLK 320, a pewter/stone CLK 500 and a silver / ash CLK 500. The pewter / stone combination was absolutely stunning. The stone interior was already messed up just from people getting in and out of the car at the show. I am glad I am getting silver/ash. Probably more people looking at this car than any other car in the show. For those of you that think the back looks like an Acura CL or Accord coupe, not even close. Checked out Infinity coupe and new 350z. They all looked cheap. The Clk 500 stood out on it own. I have absolutely no regrets ordering this car. Also there is a 1 year wait for the 500 here in South FLorida. Mercedes of Miami claims to be the number 7 dealer in the country and they are only getting 2 CLK's per month from the factory. I was number 20 on the list. Put my deposit in May and was told I will probably get it around spring time. There are only 20,000 CLK's being made per year for every dealer in the world, not just the U.S.. For some reason, nobody is ordering the 2 Tone interior or th Comand system her in South Florida. Have yet to see the 2 Tone interior in person.

2002 CLK 55 AMG Coupe ;)
I've never seen such a filthy light color interior as in the CLK: Seats, carpeting, and doors with speaker grilles were covered with scuff marks.

Why didn't MB exhibit management arrange to have those light color interiors cleaned daily?

The MB VIP lounge was pristine and refreshments a delight!

I noticed that the two E models and the SL55 AMG got a lot of attention. To the south, the new Audi coupe cabriolet attracted a good crowd. To the north in the Subaru exhibit, the yellow WRZ had an eager bunch admiring the REAL air-intake scoop on top of the hood...I liked th new Honda ELEMENT, Toyota's SCION lines to debut next June, Infiniti's FX45 to debut in January, and the new BMW Z4.

GM was promoting the forthcoming AUTOSHOW in MOTION. If you live in S. FLorida, register HERE to test drive all vehicles from major car mfrs. - domestic and imports!
