Arrow Problem With Flushing My Trans.....

I was told today, by my mechanic, that I cannot flush my trans because there is no adapter piece that connects the flush machine to my transmission (04 clk500).
When I called MB, they told me that there isn't even 1 flush machine in their service department because they don't do trans flushes......

Have any of you flushed your trans (or know someone who has) and if so, how?
Thanks.

-Chris

I drive the racism out of BadDebt. ;)
the tranny fluid is suppose to last the lifetime of your car, providing that you drive it and not beat the FLICK out of it.

I definitely get that the trans fluid and diff fluid are "lifetime".
But I will still be preventative and change/flush.

I have actually found a transmission specialist locally who knows MB and can do the flush.. I will run MAX ATF by Royal Purple.

Why just flush it and not do the right way by drop the pan and change the filter also?

The total system capacity (upon initial fill) of the 722.6xx is ~9 liters. Dropping the pan will only remove about four of them.

I agree that the filter should be changed concurrently with the fluid renewal.

If any mechanic that drop the pan and only remove half the fluid then they don't know what the hell they're doing !! You also need to remove the torque converter drain plug to drain the rest of the fluid out.

after model year 2000 the drain plugs on the torque converter was eliminated, and on the 722.6 transmissions i have seen if they are not serviced i have seen them fail completely between 80k and 120k, on the few i have dissasembled the planetart gears were grenaded due to lack of lubrication, at the shop where i work we usually recomend a service every
50k-65k miles, whaich includes drain and refill, replace the filter and pan gasket, and replace the electrical connector housing.

if the tc drain plug is gone then how do u remove the remaining fluid that sits in the TC. I am about to do it this week and would love a heads up. What is the outcome if i just drop the pan and replace just the 4 or 5. Any longterm problems or will the new mix with old.

If you only drain the tranny fluid, is like changing oil without changing the oil filter. The only right way to do a complete job, is to remove the pan, change the filter and remove the torques converter bolt to drain the fluid inside.

I actually had a local transmission specialist hook up a machine to my trans (at the pick up tube in the trans) and pump out all the tranny fluid while pumping new Royal Purple fluid in.
I new this trans flush was the best thing for it, rather than just changing the trans fluid in the pan.
