Help !!

I don't have a user's manual for my car and that's why I need your help. I don't know if the "AC" button on my car stop working or the AC system just failed. Can some one tell me if you turn on the AC, should the red light on the AC button be "on" or "off"? I even lower the temp all the way down and rise the temp all the way up but I can tell the difference in temperature. The light on the AC button do turn on and off when I pushed it. Thanks.

I believe the only thing the red button indicates is that when it's illuminated, the system is in automatic temperature control mode. If you turn the dials or change the fan speed setting, it will go out.

If you want the AC to work, the red light on the AC button should be ON.
On other models, it is the opposite, but that's the way it is on the 209.

i will assume u have thermotronic although i believe the information is the same. My apologies for not just scanning the page in, but i am out of the house on my laptop lol.

as the manual says -

--------------------------------------------------------

Economy Mode
Air is neither cooled nor dried in economy mode.

Switching On

>Press the ACoff button.

the indicator lamp in the button lights up.

----------------------------------------------------------

Switching Off

>Press the ACoff button again.

the indicator lamp in the button goes out. The previous selected setting is resumed.

I did this exact same thing last year. I thought my A/C was broken.
It wasn't.
My car is an 04, this may be different for yours.
The light that comes on, which is located on the A/C button, disengages the A/C.
If the light is on...... the Air Conditioning will not work, it will just pull in the outside air.

When in doubt, hit "Auto."

Whenever I set any manual settings, like hot air to defrost the windshield, my feet end up freezing with outside winter air. Crazy car.

Thank you everyone. I'll test it out again tomorrow.

Oh right, I should actually directly answer your post...

Yeah, to see the car work correctly, set the temp really low, like 65 or less, and then hit AUTO. If your AC is functional, you will get cold air out of the main vents. I don't know about the color of the red light, but AUTO should get you in the right place.

If you set the mode or fan speed manually, you are asking it to do something different, possibly something confusing (maybe it's just my car).
