03 CLK 500 Problems

Anyone encounter wind/road noise issues stemming from the front windons on the new CLK. I'm getting constant wind noise from both windows, a trip to the dealer and the replacement of the door seals did little to rectify the problem.

Any ideas?

I have wind noise too, but only from one window, passenger side. Replacement door seals have been ordered. I'll let you know if they make a difference.

That's really funny, because I have wind noise coming only from my DRIVER's front window...looks like MB is learning a lot from Chrysler's build quality

My garage has the replacement seals now and plan to do the replacement next week. I'll let the forum know if this solves my issue.

Sorry, I wouldn't be able to tell you because I never drive without the stereo on! My advice would be to take it to your dealer or keep the tunes blasting!!!

Angry More but the same........

Took the car through a touchless wash today..........was almost flooded by the water POURING in through the front of both front windows. And this is with NEW seals. The wind noise must be stemming from the same problem.

Any ideas?

Dealer said he would look in to it, but since the car is so new there is little information on it.

It's lack of quality controls.

MB MOTTO: Hurry up, throw it together and get it to the customer and warranty will take care of ALL DEFECTS - what an attitude!

No wonder MB is tanking in quality surveys.

From what I hear the new E has some intro pains as well...let's hope they are just growing pains for a new model and not broader MB issues. I don't remember the SL or CL having issues however

Had a 92 300CE in 92 and it was pillarless, no wind noise or leaks at all. You are correct about quality control issues and sending the cars out asap...what a shame. MBZ, hang you head down low

Honestly, it's disappointing when you pay so much for a car and it has these types of issues. I guess I should have waited 6-8 months and let them work out the probs. I hope MB itself isn't going downhill and these probs. are intro year ones. It sure as hell better not continue to happen, because BMW will soon be in my future.

Found this new exiting site for the 2004 BMW 6 series:

QUOTE:
The 6-series will debut next year some time and will be available as a coupe and cabriolet. Both cars will feature controversial styling and with its aggressive looks the 6-series would like to give the Mercedes CLK a run for its money. UNQUOTE

I have had no issues with the car yet. If you are having wind noise issues, take it back to the dealer, especially with flooding in car washes, that is awful.

OK, The seals have been replaced on my passenger door side. This involved two seals. One which ran along under the roof front to back and the other which was under the door.
So far, 48 hours later no wind noise now!

Karl,
I posted some info on the new 6 series on the w208 forum and was flamed from here to Holland....seems people can't deal with competition well. I am excited about the new 6 ~ hopefully my next car!

Nick -

Flamed re BMW by a Hollander?

Their high-technology goes from dam stabilization, - because most of Holland is below sea-level, - to tulip horticulture to lots of bicyles and tea imported from their former colony: Indonesia... allright, I almost forgot Heineken and Phillips cos...and fine windmills...and their "near"-German language...enough said for: Dutch automotive credibility.

That new 2004 BMW 6 series is destined to be an instant winner, - when introduced next year.
