CLK 350 passenger seatbelt problems anyone?
I have a 2007 CLK 350 coupe. The passenger seatbelt locks as expected, as when you jerk it or stop suddenly. However, sometimes it will not unlock and you have to fully retract the belt and reconnect it. It acts the same as if you pulled the belt fully out and let it retract, but it may not do it immediately or at all. Sometimes you can drive for hours without it locking and suddenly it will lock and not release.
I had the belt replaced and the new one seems to be better but not correct. The local service manager thinks I am pulling the belt all the way out and releasing it, which I am not doing. MBUSA just bounces me back to the service manager. This is not a known, general problem as far as MBUSA is concerned.
Is anybody else experiencing this problem? If so, what have you done about it?

I want to refresh this posting at least once. Nobody else has indicated having this problem. That is troubling. MB in NJ switched me to another service manager, but they want me to bring the car in to demonstrate the problem. Since it is random, that is impossible. It would be helpful if I could find anybody else with this problem.

Update. Spoke to MB yesterday. They suggested if I was near a dealer next time it locks to go right there so it can be checked. It will have to be pretty close because my wife won't put up with it, but this is the first useful suggestion they came up with. It remains to be seen how practical it is.
