RePaint Hood?? Help

RePaint Hood?? Help
I live in the NE where the roads are garbage. I own a 04 Obdisian Black 500. Now I know I am going to get rock chips, thats fine, I will live with some. Yesterday I had a huge stone fly up and hit twice on my hood, so large it made me flinch. Both hits leaving chips in the paint as well is quarter sized dents around it. Horrible.
I have no idea what the usual price is for having the whole hood re-painted. I was qouted $650 from the local Benz Dealers Collision Center. That seems high to me. Any advice on this would be appreciated.
Do or Dont repaint the hood? etc... Prices? Other ideas?
