i do not know much about rims. I do know that i have stock chrome rims from the dealers. I'm willing to spend around 1k. i like the skinny black rims i guess.

1 grand is not going to get you much. If it was me I would look for a used set somewhere.

Or look for a used set of oem upgrade wheels, and then get them painted if possible

If you are ok not having black, your options are better - not sure where you are but someone's selling 18" Brabus wheels like mine on Craigslist, for $600 here in the Bay Area - that's really cheap.

a 40 offset will not work. go to tirerack and they will give you the offsets for your make and model and will also give you some wheel options. the most important thing to consider when buying wheels for the CLK is backspacing. our front brakes are huge so you will need to find a set of wheels that is designed to clear the front calipers. most wheel companies do not make wheels that fit the CLK for that reason.

i will fit for a 320, it may not fit for a 500 or a 55 due to the fact stated above.

thanks for the info guys. Assuming a CLK320, will offset 40 at 8.5 rim width, mean that the rims will be sunken inwards, particularly for the rear?

Kev,

If you have a CLK with standard brakes, I have a set of HRE 446R wheels and Pirelli PZero Nero tires for sale. They have a polished lip with a black face. Six thin spokes, 3-piece, all-forged, light weight. 18x8 fronts mounted with 225/40, 18x9 rears mounted with 255/35. Wheels are in great shape. Tires have 200 miles on them. Wheels new are $1095. Will sell four wheels and tires for $2500.
