Launching

I was just thinking what would be the most powerful way to launch the car from stop.

Leaving the gear in D with S mode and flooring it?
Rev-ing it at 6k or 7k RPM in Neutral and then shift to D?
Using tip tronic and start from Gear 1?

Does leaving ESP off help at all?

what ever you do DO NOT rev it in Neutral and drop into Drive! that's a really good way to BREAK your torque converter or shread 1st gear, not to mention maybe blowing out the rearend.

best launch is car in Dyno mode, while holding the brake firmly apply the fuel to take the slack out of the power train, while stationary brings the revs up to about 1500ish and the at the same time floor the accelerator and release the brake.

i have a 2004 CLK 500, using this method i can nail a 5.2 0-60.

don't hold the revs up while stationary for more than just a few seconds. hope this helps.

if you hold it up and gas a bit harder, smoke will appear from your rear tires and your car will dissapear.
