AMG brake upgrade from SLK55?

Hello is it possible to upgrade CLK500 brakes from an SLK55 kit? Is it bolt on or is there modification involved?

Thanks!

The 6/4 pots from the SLK 55 is a drop in for the w209 CLK.

So would you say $1200 is worth it for the front and rear rotors and calipers? Is there any change in the size of the front or rear rotors or am I just getting more pistons per caliper? Thanks!

Nevermind... I answered my own question. The SLK55 came out in 2005 - 2008.

Rotor size

Can anyone tell me if the rotors are the same size from the SLK55 and CLK500? I know the calipers will match up correctly but I'm unsure of the rotor size.

Thanks!

So, if I do find SLK calipers, will I have to swap out my rotors too? If so, which ones do I use?

you cannot use the original 500 rotors and SLK55 calipers. The SLK55 rotors are larger and of a 2piece floating design.

It was used, I passed on it and I'm looking into Ksport 8 piston fronts and 4 or six piston rears. Going 14" rotors in front and either 12 or 13" in the rear.

You can get an 8 pistion kit with 13" rotors for $1560 on ebay. The AMG calipers are $1200 and then you'll need SLK55 rotors which are another $500.

That's really cheap. The front rotors are like 1000-1200 each.

SLK32
2013 slk55 amg to 2003 slk32 amg

I measured my SLK32 AMG front caliper space and found that that the Mercedes 550 Brimbo calipers matched the drilled and slot rotors, purchased from DRT rotor sport. Found the front calipers (4 piston) off a 550 series, both for $125, these Brimbo brakes will work perfect, I have a lathe and made four spacers for the correct alignment, but you can use washers (not recommended). You'll need 4 longer bolts, remember to get the pitch right and use lock tight or they will come out!! Also as long as your doing the job, do it right, change to steel braided hoses and flush the system.
Result, my car brakes faster in a straight line with a lot less wear and heat so less brake fade on the track, just remember the guy behind you may not have the same system and you don't want him kissing your butt at high speeds.
Drive safe! DanBH
