Please Help!!

Hello all, I really need your help on this one. I LEASED my CLK 500 on 9/27/02. On 11/01/02 someone pulled out in front of me and caused approximately 10K damage to the front end of the car. I did not hit hard enough for the airbags to deploy so the damage was really not that bad. I certainly didn't expect 10K worth of damage. But that is all beside the point. My body shop gave me an estimated repair time of 2 weeks from the time they have all the parts. Here's where the problem begins. It has been 2 1/2 months and they can't get all of the parts from Mercedes. I think this is absolutely ridiculous. When I leased the car I was under the assumption that parts would be readily available in case of an accident. What recourse do I have? I am paying $850 a month for a car that I can't drive because the car's manufacturer (MB)doesn't have access to parts for their cars. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I have already called the 800 number to complain but that hasn't gotten me anywhere. Thanks in advance.

Sorry man that's messed up,

I'd go through my insurance co. Some of these Body shops are lame and sit on their azzes. Body shops want insurance co's buisness. Body shops can be dropped if insurance co is not satisfied. Direct your complaint to you insurance co about the matter.

Ya, i got friends that own bodyshops, they will give you all sort of excuses.

ask your body shop to print out a list of parts that your car needs, then call your local MB dealer and see if they got the parts, if not ask them if they can locate it.

This way you will know if it is indeed the parts or your bodyshop trying to screw you...

good luck1

W209 is still very new on the market. Parts will be hard to get that's for sure. Every first year car parts are hard to get. It took BMW a month 1/2 just to get the freaking doorseal rubber for my previous 2000 328Ci and that was a first yr car.
