04 CLk 500 engine Misfire...
I just purchased a 04 CLK 500 with 74k miles. Since I purchase the car, the engine is kinda misfiring. I get a engine light on once in a while. It was showing me cyl 5 and 7. If I restart the car the engine will run fine. Should I change the spark plugs? Thanks for your time. =)

Misfired can be cause by bad MAF/MAS or 02 sensors. Since your car already had 74K miles, you might as well replace the plugs because it due at 100K miles. It pain in the *** if you never done it. It easy for me now since I've done it twice on the Clk 430 and CL 55. The back 2 plugs on the driver side is the difficult one.

Thanks for the reply, I took a long drive with the car today and I have notice a very loud rattling sound coming from under the car, like it was in the exhaust piping. Maybe that might be the cost the misfiring? I this cars have a built in cats. COuld it be the cat rattling? Thanks again

It there any codes beside the misfired codes? Cylinders 5 and 7 is on the passenger side. Remember, the CAT warranty is alot longer then the basic factory warranty 4/50k. In California, the CAT warranty is 8/80k miles.
