My car is missing from the radar,Where did it go
My friend placed a deposit on a 2003 CLK 320 on 10/25/02 at Silver Star Mercedes Benz with salesman, Owen Taback, Long Island City, NY.
He called the dealership on or about Jan 15th ,2003, to find out the status of car.
He was told by Owen "it vanished from the radar"
The sales manager reiterated this claim.
The salesman then offered to sell my friend a used SL500 for $61.900
He declined the offer.
Can someone give me an explanation for the vanished vehicle?

I thought I read that the recent ship that went down was loaded with volvos, vws and benzs?
Perhaps they just decided to sell it to someone higher on their priority list and are claiming ignorance so that you'll have a lower probability of going balistic on them?

Your second suggestion is more probable.
