I'll tell you what though these guys were complete dicks about it. Today I go to pick it up. I tell the guy ( who was not helping me today) that my car WILL work w/ the part and you just have to hold the CDC in order to turn it on. As I'm telling the guy this.... He just walks off... I mean that's fine if you don't care, but I'm here spending money. Hell I just bought a car here last week. So when he comes back I now have the part and I pretty much push it in front of him. He stares at his screen while I talk then says he knew it would work. I don't get upset very easy, but I could of punched this ***** in the face.

This is park place MB in Dallas if any one is wondering.

you should have told him that your not buying the part from this dealership because of him, and went to the other dealership.

okay, I have my own story of cluelessness at the dealership, so I could use some help here. I saw a thread (can't find it now; there are so many) that said that the correct part number depends on your car's build date. That thread referenced a MP Parts List PDF, which I did save, attached. The gist of it is:

128 A 210 440 50 05
W IR IN G H A R N E S S
AUX JACK
To Date: 28/02/2006

128 A 203 440 18 08
W IR IN G H A R N E S S
AUX JACK
From Date: 28/02/2006

I sent my SA at the dealership an email, asking:

"I understand that there are two different part numbers, depending upon whether the car was built before or after 2/28/2006. I believe my CLK has an in service date of 4/11/2006, so I believe the part number for me is A 203 440 18 08; can you confirm?"

I got an email back stating:

"...our parts department tells me that it could go either way on part numbers. We have the other cable in stock but I will order 203 440 18 08 which retails for $43.85. We have 210 440 50 05 which retails for $ 62.83. When both are here I will zip off a email..At which time you can keep the one which works... "

Of course I don't want to buy it from them, not at those prices. But I'm hesitant to order the wrong cable online. Anyone know the part number for sure? That PDF doc indicates "C320" so maybe it doesn't apply to my CLK350?
