2004 CLK Battery Question

Well, got a call today from the storage place, guess they went to take the 04 out to get it ready for us to pick up and the battery was completely dead and wont take a charge.

So my question is:

- Where is the battery on this car located? Is it simple to remove and replace?

- What kind of battery do I need? Is it Dealer only? I called Canadian Tire (similar to US Autozone I guess) and they had no idea what kind of battery the car needed nor were they willing to look into it.

Any help is appreciated, I really want to get the car home so I can wash it up and drive her.

It is under the hood, partially concealed beneath the filter for the A/C unit, right up against the bulkhead on the passenger side.

Unclip (3) and unhook/raise the plastic filter assy, and pull aside to get access to the battery. It is secured by 2 bolts at its base, and is very heavy. For Canada I would advise replacing with the more expensive 'heavy duty' version. Normally you should expect 6 -8 years from an original M-B battery, so you must be unlucky here. The A/C filter has been completely removed in the image below.
