First Accident...

Today, so sadly, my car was hit by the car behind. This was my first

accident so I actually have no idea what to do. Funny thing is that he ran

away from the scene. Fortunately, damage is so minor, it is just little scratch

on my rear bumper but noticible. I don't know what to do. I reported to the

police with his number tag(thank god I memorize it). Anyway anyone can tell

me what to do? such as repair with my insurance? or his? Please give me

some advice. Thank you very much!!

1. Go down to the precinct where it happened and fill out police report and get copy.
2. Contact your insurance company and put them on notice with copy of police report.
3. Call local MB dealer and find out who they use for body work and paint repair.
4. Go see them and get estimate for repair work and deliver same to insurance company.
5. Your Insurance company will go after the other guy/girl's insurance carrier for subrogation.
6. Go to local auto parts store and buy some polishing compound ($5.00 or less) and gently polish over the scratches to see what can be removed.
7. Wash and use good paste wax, Pure Carnuba, and polish the area. You would be surprised how much damage will come off.
8. Then determine if it is worth getting the damaged repaired.
All the above in that order. Best of luck and good wishes.

if its minor damage than its not worth the deductable. never report to your company always report to the other person's. your insurance company will give you **** for making them do all the paperwork.
