CLK vs E & C Class steering & wind noise
I'm seriously considering buying a CLK but have several questiions since
my dealer doesn't have a demonstrator since all his CLK's are pre-ordered.
I had hoped to have the new E Class as my primary driver but was very
disappointed in the steering after picking up an E500 at the factory in
September. The steering seemed to lack feel, was slow and didn't seem
to self center. When returning home I found my 02 C320 had far
better steering feel. Can someone give me a hands on comparison of
the CLK steering vs the new E and C Sedan? Also I would like to know about
the wind noise on the CLK. I have seen some posts about noise and
wonder if this is a continuing problem or merely something that needed
to be corrected? The new E and C Class cars have very low wind noise and
I would hate to give that up of the CLK is noisy. Thanks for any help you
can give. I have had two W208's a 320 a 430. I would like to get back
to a CLK again since I really enjoyed the 208's.

i have not personally driven a w209 yet, but i think the clk also has the "drift to right" prooblem..and i believe this problem can be fixed by your dealer although some people here still have this problem
as for the handling, i heard the clk is better as its built on the C-class ,has more rigid body ,lighter than e-class, better coeficient drag....and one magazine said the steering and handling is much better than w208
if you are concerned about handling, bmw is the right car for you
i heard it handles very well

I drive both C32AMG & W209, they're almost twins.
Compared it with AMG vehicle, the CLK500 copies a lot from it
The suspension, brake, rim/tire size ...they share identical spec
I really enjoy the atheletic chassis of W203, that's why I pickup
W209, the twins but with coupe style.
Steering is as responsive as C32AMG, the chassis has also been enhenced for coupe treatment from C.
If you like the sporty coupe, W209 is great, IMO.
p.s I drive SL55AMG a few times, sporty ? Ne ! I got no feeling at
all, the driver had been isolated, leave all those "fun" to ABC,ESP,SBC... whichever called "electronic stuff" that take everything over, I agree that's "extremely comfortable" for elder ppl.
