WHY ME WHY NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HAVE A 03 CLK 500 AND BETWEEN THE SPEED OF 20 MPH AND 40 MPH IM HEARING A RUBBING NOISE FROM UNDERBODY ....IS THIS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM ? HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM AND IF THEY HAVE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT PROBELM I AM COMING INTO?

Take it in and get a Star Mechanic to give it a once over before its too late. Its worth the service charge to do it now.
I kept hearing noises from my trany, but just kept putting it off. Now I am looking at $7800 at the Stealership, or about $5000 if I get the parts and pay a tech under the table.
The worst part about it is, I am now sharing my wife's car until I get mine back.

That's why I bought extended warranty when I bought the car.
Had the trans goes bad last year and warranty covered it all, zero out of pocket, actual cost to rebuild trans was $5800 plus cost of car rental for 5 days, and towing.
You can buy warranty now if your car is <10 years old and <150k miles.
It is really worth the $2000 or so cover up to 100K/5yrs.

Here's the story.
Last summer I got a warning that my coolant was low. I went to Autozone to buy what they recommended, not knowing MB uses specified one. Well, I topped of the radiator. Two weeks later while driving i noticed smoke coming from under the car, pulled over to a gas station (1/4 block away) and saw atrail of oil/water mix. Turned out that the tranny oil being cooled by the radiator which broke due to uncompatible coolent that I added. Luckily, the warranty company did not figure that out, I kept quiet
.Lesson to everyone, don't add anything else but water in your coolant.
