I just changed my plugs this weekend. I got them from amazon.com and the seller was The Parts Authority. The plugs are Bosch 7422. I bought them for $4.29 last week but I just checked and they are only $3.59 now.

No, those are the single platinum. I think the Bosch OEM part number is FR8DPP33, but the short number is 7422. The plugs I mentioned were the exact same plugs that I pulled from the motor. Don't forget that there are 2 per cylinder so you will need to get 16 of them. I think they are $10-12 from the dealership. Also, the metal boots on the spark plug wires are a ***** to get on. Use the open end of a 17mm wrench to take them off.

Nope, they are just Bosch Platinum Plus plugs with the single ground. Here is the link to the Bosch website: http://www.boschautoparts.com/RB.NA....=MERCEDES-BENZ Just select spark plugs in the pull down menu.

You dont have to adjust the gap either, they come preadjusted for your vehicle.

i dont know what mechanics suggest, but i would do it at like 50k and then next maybe 75k? and also depends on how much i i would drive the car... but then again i never keep a car that long lol. I just hit 57k so maybe i will be doing that in a few thousand miles but not thinking about that anytime soon...

My Service B service indicator came up at 38500 miles so I decided to do an overall maintance to the car. I changed the air filters, a/c filters (dust and charcoal), oil filter, oil, spark plugs, and flushed the brake fluid. The car is an '05 so it is most likely that the previous owner didn't change the plugs in the 4 years of the cars life. I would change the plugs at 50000 mile intervals.

I went to dealership to do some free service, I asked if I need to change the spark plugs, he said no until 75k, I am not 100% sure, but I haven't change it. Can anyone tell me how I can tell if I need to change it?

Dont be so sure, if you go to autozone and request spark plugs for car model a they will give them to you just because they are compatible for car model a. just because they work well with car model a it doesnt mean that they are not combatible for car model b c d e f g. so instead of making spark plugs pre gapped specificly for car model a b c d e f g bosch and other manufacturer's have you do it to save money.

personaly I will go with theese, NGK Laser Platinum Spark Plug. They are proven to be superior over OEM and all the amg guys use them.

on my 01 clk320 i changed the plugs myself and i didnt have to adjust the gaps so i think they probably come pregapped for w209s too. But yeah it doesnt hurt to check anyway before putting them in...

I disagreed with anyone here said these and that plugs is better then Factory and that one should use it. Just because it platium plugs doesn't mean it better in term of performances. I would consider the "heat" range of the plugs is more importance then anything else when it come to performance. So until you know exactly how your car run like Air fuel ratio, exhaust gas temp....etc. and pick the plugs with the right "heat" range for maxinum performance. Platinum plus will definitely last much longer and foul less but not neccessary is better performance if not tuned for. Most aftermarket supercharger does not use platinum plugs. Kleemann sc kit is one of them.
