Command installation..........
Can command be installed after delivery on cars built on the last week of january?
i heard cars built on january onwards are not pre wired...is that true?
does it mean we also cant install cd changer?

pre wired or not...comand can be installed in almost every single MB model.
I installed a (euro) comand in a 2002 W209 CLK500 last monday...everything functions perfectly (offcourse)...the installation took aprox. 1-1,5 hour.
Regardless what your MB dealership says, comand can be installed afterwards WITHOUT A SINGLE PROBLEM.

MBenzNL, mya i know what make you sure about this? because i heard that starting from january 2003 the car will not be pre-wired..and the car that you installed is 2002

The prewiring only applied to the W211 E-class (for DVD based navigation). The 2003 W209 was never intended to have DVD based navigation, so the CD based one was offered from the factory. No need to prewire for something that isn't going to be offered. The 2004 W209 I'm sure will have DVD based navigation offered straight from the factory.

"Pre-wired" means that the factory ran a wire from the roof-mounted GPS antenna to the dash so that installing a Command is basically plug-and-play.
My dealer told me that none of the new CLK's are pre-wired. Therefore, the dealers do not want to mess with installing a Command in a car that has not been pre-wired.
However, as MBenzNL responded, it is possible to install a Command in virtually every MB model. There is basically two options for connecting a GPS antenna to the Command. One is running a wire across the floor of the car and connecting into the Teleaid GPS antenna with a splitter. This requires that you remove a lot of things from the interior.
The other method is to purchase an under dash mount GPS antenna. This is what MBenzNL installed in my car just a week ago. Once the antenna has been placed under the dash, it is just a matter of adding the correct connectors to the wiring harness to accommodate the Command unit. As Steve (MBenzNL) mentioned, he did this to mine in under 2 hours.
