Does the passanger seat move forward?

I bought a pre owned clk 550 cab. I just tried to fold the seat backs forward to gain easier access to the rear seats. I was able to get the drivers seat backrest to fold forward, but the passangers side will not. It has the same handle to pull up and the seat should push forward, but does not. Has anyone ever encountered this? Would this be covered under warranty?

Also I noticed a few minor tears just above the visors.

It is a 2007 with 25k miles....

thunderdan - is it that your seat won't move forward at all, or that it will move forward, but just not that much? If it's the latter, then it may be that your passenger seat position is too far forward. If the seat is pushed all the way back (using the electronic seat controls), then when you lift the handle on the seat shoulder, the seat should unhinge and fold all the way forward. If however the seat is positioned close to the dashboard, when you pull the handle on the seat's shoulder, the seat's range of motion will be limited and it won't fold that far forward.

Hope that helps....

Thunderbolt, I agree with atl2nyc as to why your seat won't fold forward. Another tip for you is that when you raise the handle and start to fold the seat, go SLOWLY, because as you do this the headrest lowers so that it doesn't rub against/rip the headliner.

move the seat always the back backwards before you try to pop it up, there is a place about 3/5 the way back where the seat will pop up and ove foward, the trick is to get the seat positioned just right to get the sea tto pop up and foward.

basically your poblem is that the pass seat is not far enough back to get it to pop up and foward.
