Buying a demo car
I was looking at a loaded 09 CLK350 demo car for a lease.
The car has 4600 miles on it. Should I even consider this vehicle?
If so, what is a good price? The dealer is offering invoice price.
Thanks

Hey GCY46,
Couple of questions for you. You say that they are willing to offer you invoice on the 09, what is the money factor that they are leasing you the vehicle for? In other words they may be selling you the vehicle at invoice but the money factor is higher than you purchasing a brand new one. Try www.fleetrate.com for a comparison on leasing.
Also, in looking at what's available out there, CarMax has a 09 CLK cab w/7.8K miles on it for $44998.00. Thats a saving of around what $10-$15k. Anyhow, in a quick check on Autotrader, you have 10 CLK's ranging in price from $44k to $55K. Big spread, but let's face it, the economy is still not where it was 2 years ago and it's a buyers market.
Do some more research and let us know what you come up with. Again, the money factor is the most important component in a lease along with of course length of term and monthly investment. You didn't say what options were on the vehicle and whether or not it was a cab. Let us know how things work out....

And don't forget new CLK's (coupes) have $7500 back right now so an invoice deal on something used is very unaggresive. Maybe they have better finance rate on used though? You'd have to look into that side of it.
