w209 clock adjustment quesntion

1998 E300 Turbodiesel-drove for ten years/165k miles
I just did it in mine, which I just picked up new/used yesterday. New to me/used car.
The procedure is in the owner's manual. Essentially, you have to go through the menus using the steering wheel controls until you come to settings. Using another pair of steering wheel buttons you'll scroll down until you get to "set time." Once you've got that set you have to press the reset button (which turns to set the dash illumination, and pushes in to reset). Once you've done that, it's fairly entertaining to watch the analog clock spin until it gets to your new setting.

I'm just trying to figure this one out now. There must be a book missing, as there is no reference to setting the clock at all. So I did the online search thingy, and discover that there is no 'set time' in the settings either. So I am going to try your suggestion of disconnecting the battery. Just bought my coupe, here in New Zealand, a 2007 with 32000 on the clock, so quite pleased. Cheers. [previous multiple Holdens owner.]

If you have the COMAND Nav option, you can do it through COMAND. I don't remember exactly which menu it was, but I have a 2004 model and did it a month or two ago with the Daylight Savings change in the US.
I don't think I've ever figured it out using the steering wheel controls.

Well, I recently acquired an '03 CLK 320 and there was no "Set time" option on any of the menus, and I do not have the Command radio system. However, I have some kind of non-functioning Navigation system on my radio.
When you have Navigation the clock sets itself from the satellites. (But my Nav does not work.)
So, what I had to do, and I just did it again when the time changed for Daylight Savings, you need to pull the fuse for the instrument panel and replace it at 12 Noon or 12 Midnight on the button and the clock will reset just fine.
The fuse is on the driver's side of the dashboard and is the one on the bottom right.
1. Pull it out
2. Put it back in at exactly 12.
Easy peasy!
