what motor oil do i use?

I have a 1998 CLK 320. I noticed that the maintenance log and receipts from the lube shop used 15w 40 and 15w 50. I live in Phoenix Arizona and it has about 170,000 miles on it. I read in the forums that it should be using 0w 40. Now the last oil change they used 15w 50, will it be okay if I go back to 0w 40??????

I drive the racism out of BadDebt. ;)
up here in canada, i use mobil 1 0w40...

where you live, there is no snow...or even cold weather for that matter...so a "0" for W is ok...

the "W" stands for winter....

You would be fine with a 10W30 or 40 or even a 15W. 0W would be for extremely cold temps.

Is 0W standard for MB's? Just surprising that it would be used even in hot climates.
