Ventilated seats. Do they do anything??
I have driven 3 MBZ, a CL, a W209, and now my new '06 W209 with heated, ventilated and multicontour seats. I cannot see any effect to the ventilation aspect. The switch lights up 1,2,3 blue but I feel nothing and feel nothing at the rear perforated opening or the rear hole on the seat back, or the seat surface for either side.
How can I verify that they work? Does the climate control have to be in a particular position??

In every MB I've driven/owned/been in, the ventilated seats plain SUCK. I can't feel a thing, except when I put my hand on the seat itself and can feel a really minuscule amount of air.

You can tell the ventilation is on but only after a few minutes. On a Lincoln Navigator you can feel the ventilated seats because they really push air out; on the CLK it is a lot softer because I think that it vacuums the air in rather than blows it out. They do work, it's just not very intense. The heated seats are more noticeable when they are on.
