Hand Free and Blue Tooth question

So i recently purchased a 2006 CLK, awesome car!

My question is about the hands free phone setup. I have the telephone buttons on the steering wheel, and the number pad and green and red phone buttons on the center display but i cannot seem to find a blue tooth connector anywhere in the car. Is there some sort of other phone system i need to be using other than blue tooth?

Why would they put all the phone buttons on the wheel and console if you cannot use it?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

you have to see if the car came pre wired for the phone system....i think the 05 were the last to come pre wired stock after that it was an option...you have to check your vin to see what the options were hopes this helps

There is a long and detailed discussion in the W211 forum on this topic. Several well-informed people there and lots of help. Check it out - you may find the answer you seek - I did.

My 2006 CLK 350 didn't come prewired, so I purchased an irtronic system from cartronics. Works great, just like I had a factory system installed. Install wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
