Front tire width

I wanted to know how wide I can go on my 2006 W209, with the front tires. I have two sets of rims, but both are 225 in the front. Anyone got any advice/experience with this?

Thanks in advance!

I tested 255/40R17 with stock wheels, and they clear the strut, but I think it hit the inner plastic liner between the engine bay and the wheel well. But 255 is too wide to look good, IMO.

I think 235 (maybe 235/xxR18?) probably would look the best, and 245/40R17 would also work I think. Definitely improves handling.

Someone else said that 10" would fit in the rear, and that would look sweet.

i run 235.35.19 and 265.30.19 8.5" rim on the front, 9.5 on the rears with no rubbbing and i have h&r sport springs, i think i might upgrade to 275 on the rears when they wear out.. the traction has improved dramatically i dont spin my wheels and i can take corners much faster now. i am also running 10mm spacers on the front and 15mm on the rear.

I drive the racism out of BadDebt. ;)
im running 235/35/19s on a 8.5" rim.....and 275/30/19s on a 10"....the rear rubs a bit before i rolled, but if you roll your fenders a tiny bit, you can get away with 10" rims.

What offsets are you running on rears?
