^^^^ This is my 04 CLK 500 w/ 18" knock-off C63 wheels. Lemme know what you think. I'm not really interested in dropping it. I like how it rides, and I don't really want to spend any more $ on the thing. The last pic is my house, not bad for 24, and not living on daddy's dime.

Dropping it is not going to change the ride, and with a house like that what your going to spend on springs should be chump change!

That doesn't seem right, not that I know. It would seem like the car would ride much firmer if i dropped it -no? I am getting married next april and having a lot of family in town. My funds are going to blowing out the house ( framelss shower, more hardwoods ...etc.) Assuming it doesnt make the ride worse, what would a drop (springs and install) cost?

Congrats on the marriage! You only have 18's, the change in ride shouldn't be that noticable. Plus it makes the car look 100 times better... The H&R springs would run about $250 on ebay and the installation price depends on your mechanic but it shouldn't be more than 1-2 hours of work..

I had the Eibach Springs and got it for $200 (hooked up deal). The installation is cost me $250 so yea total is $450 and no I havent replaced my shocks yet but I will. The ride is not that bad like you think seriously.

So I would just buy springs for my car and they would drop the car the correct amount automatically? Do they have to be cut or somthing?

Yes, if it is just lowering springs they will lower it a certain amount. H&R's are about 1-1 1/2 inch drop. I just lowered mine on Brabus springs and it dropped about 1 1/2 inches. The ride is better because the cornering has improved, and it isnt much stiffer than before. Nice house also, what do you do for a living?

I may look into lowering, prolly not to quickly though.

Thanks, I work for a venture capital firm that specializes in secured commercial debt. Hence the name bad _debt.

On the AMG badge, I bought my car that way. I knew the lady that had the car before me, and she swears she bought it like that from the dealer.
At first I was concerned taking it off would leave a shadow or mark. Then I stopped caring. I have gone out of my way to tell people that is not a true AMG engine car. People who know, know this anyways. It's not like I dropped the 500 for a 55 tag. Seriously though, i have gone out of my way to tell people, I only have/ had AMG wheels, body kit and that the true AMG has bigger engine.

You should still take it off then you wouldn't have to go out of your way so much....It doesn't leave a mark, try using GOO GONE!

Dental floss and goo gone!

I've been meaning to debadge my CLK 320 emblems, but I get lazy after work!

I think dropping the car makes it look 100 times better regardless of the wheels. It is a stiffer ride with my setup (H&R coilovers), but I've heard people maintain that somewhat floaty and cushy stock feeling using that strut and spring combo that Andy is talking about.

You can save a few hundred by installing it yourself. My brother and I installed mine, but I think I would have rather paid. We had to do the install outside when it was like 85 degrees out. I was quoted by a shop to do the install for $250 in San Diego. It honestly wasn't that difficult, but some steps are just tedious and hard to reach unless you have all the right tools. And it would have been worse if my brother wasn't there.

Where did you see that sport badge in the back of my car ? Lets just say if I had it there ( which I dont) I bet no one complain about it but the ///AMG We are just saying man its your car you can do whatever you want...we only suggested that you need to drop your car thats all lol.

btw, I never said my car is fast and sure the 320 is slow I agreed .

I can't say that I have seen that......

Also I might be wrong but a sports package doesn'tt have anything to do with the motor. It's just the looks (ie. front lip, side skirts, spoiler, etc.)

... and I'm pretty sure Klinh's ride is a cabrio 500, but is pretty 'sporty'. His quad setup is ill, his drop is clean, and the wheels he threw on look good.

Either way, rock what you want. I don't think anyone outside these forums really cares anyway.
