Passenger head rest problem?
hi guys, im new to the site, just recently bought a 2005 clk500 with 57k miles on it at a repo auction for 7400. the passenger seat goes up and the head rest goes all the way down but when it goes back to the regular postition the headrest goes halfway up and when i use the control on the door it only goes up more not down im comfused lol? can anyone help?

For me it was something with the connector or cables. It would go up and never go down. I took the back from the seats and switched the whole assembly with the motors from my other seat to test it. For now I just left it unplugged at the lowest position which is the position I like anyway. Its something like $150 in parts if yours is bad. Dealer replacement cost was almost $400 but its super easy to replace.

same thing with mine. set ur seat all the way down with the controls on the doors (that way when u go to open the seat it unclips and goes up further) then open the seat like someone was getting in the back. put the seat back down and when the headrest is in its furthest down position just hold it down when u bring the seat back down. simplest solution unless u wanna bring it in for service to the stealer

Its not uncommon for the motors to go bad according to my certified Mercedes mechanic. Also in some cases its the contacts/cables that need to be fixed like in my case. I just leave it unplugged as I do not have a need to play with them a specially at that price
