quick exhaust question
I was wondering something interesting. I recently had a c230 loaner and i noticed that the exhaust was extremely more pleasant sounding than my CLK 320. i noticed it had the amg sports tuned exhaust.
interesting enough, i was wondering if i had the exhaust system out of a CLK 500, would my car have a more aggressive note to it?
i know it might be a better way to go for like a magnaflow or an eisanmann but i know someone who is selling their clk500 set for cheaper than a magnaflow set up. so i mean cost effectively, will i still get that aggressive growl of the amg tuned exhaust from the 500 exhaust? or does it sound just as.....quiet.

im pretty sure you will get minimal to no gain in volume by switching to a clk500 exhaust because the clk500 is also pretty quiet as it is and any noise from it would mostly be from the engine itself. if you want to do it right, get a clk55 muffler as that would be a true amg muffler and will sound much better

Get AMG resonator and muffler, in my opinion best way to go. I wish i would have done that instead of pissing away 1400 on eisanmann muffler. Sure sounds nice from the outside but drones like a ****. Not worth it.

Magnaflow is the way to go...I used to have that on my CLK320-04 with quad tips setup....it defnitely sounds different. The rear end (from the resonator) of the exhaust of CLK500 same as CLK55 AMG. There is a thread about this matter and the quad setup.
