I am looking to dive into a Mercedes...

And I am looking at a 2006 CLK 350. I just Test drove a 2001 430. Am I nuts to say that the '06 350 had more room that the '01 430?

Since I am looking at getting a used car I like the 350's styling and the 320 Cab's! Any input you can give me - I would like this car to last me a while - how many miles should one expect with proper maintenance - I mainly drive highway or non stop and go. I have slapped 175k on my Pontiac! Would like the same here...

Thanks for your help.

depending on if you are going to stay with the coupe, i would say go with the CLK 500 coupe. you can find them with low miles for (relatively) dirt cheap. more power for basically the same price. I just got a 2005 CLK 500 w/ AMG package fully loaded with nav, xenons, sunroof package, ect. with 28k miles for $23,900. The car is an absolute dream. just out of curiosity, how many miles does the 2006 350 have and how much are they asking?

2006 CLK350 Cabriolet
I have ALWAYS been a ragtop person, so IMO, there is no choice but a Cab. I bought my '06 350 in Sept 2008 with 21,000 miles on it. It just turned 65,000 and I have done nothing but scheduled maintenance on it and tires. I'll be needing front brakes very soon.

Given the power of the V6 along with the 7 speed tranny, I cannot imagine anyone needing the V8. Mine has gobs of performance and I get ~~27mpg on the highway, mostly at 75 - 85mph.

Suggestions --- Maintenance Records are paramount! Be sure whatever you get has a solid maint history. If you can find a CPO model, all the better with the CPO warranty!

@pcardoza: how well does your 350 handle in snow? do you have snow tires on that car? I have continental all seasons on my 500 and it actually handles decently well in snow but im debating on purchasing a snow tire for next year any suggestions

I think the 350 was 21,900.

The Cab I am looking at is a '99 with 60k miles on it. - $15,000

Thanks for your input.

I am looking at the 500's as I type!

CLK 320
My only regret of getting a 320 was the body styling. I love my MPG, but would've opted for a 500/550 or AMG for everything else (sports kit, bigger breaks, interior styling, etc). Also make sure you find one with as many options that you want on it already as possible. Will save a lot of effort later if you want some with xenons, COMMAND, etc.

Well since its almost February, I probably wont be switching my all seasons for blizzak's this season. possibly next winter, but to be honest the continental all seasons are not bad at all in snow and ice.

heres a questions for you......could i put 20's on this car? ive read here and different forums, some say you can some say you cant, some say 19s are the best fit. I really wanna put 20" black giovanna caracas rims on this car. any advice on custom wheels or where to get that done in chicagoland would be helpful. Thanks!

I have Toyo all-seasons on mine and the car is not good in the snow. It takes very little to get me stuck, but once I get some momentum up, it tracks well enough. I have resolved myself to commuting in my wife's Accord when it's snowing out........

yeah thats what i was thinking but it snowed about an inch here the past few days and i havent really had any major problems. i put some extra weight in the back too which helps. i think if it snows any more than 2-3" ill prolly just drive my alero.
