got bent wheels?

One of my wheels is bent pretty bad at two spots. Now, air is leaking from the region. I am planning to buy a new set.

How easy is it to get wheels bent? I don't think I ever got other OEM wheels bent before, but these aftermarket ones i have got bent at couple spots. Is this because my tires are thin? or I just have weak wheels?

Does anyone have similar experience?

OEM wheels are usually quite robust, but can still bend if you hit a pothole or frost heave. Low profile tires make your wheel more susceptible to damage as you have less cushion around the rim.

Klinh pointed me to a shop in SD that got my wheels repaired. One was bent in two places. If you just need to fix one, it shouldn't be that much. The guy does pick ups and repairs in LA like once a week he said. Wouldn't hurt to give him a call. I was really pleased with their work. I don't think it would cost that much to repair. I got all four of my wheels polised inside and out, and had two wheels that were bent and repaired for about $400.

thanks, however, I would need to give him all the wheels that my car sits on.

I am still debating between getting a new set and getting the current set fixed. My rims are 19". If I was getting a new set, I am thinking if I should go for 18" so a chance of having this bent issue can be lower.

Still can't decide what to do...

So your stock wheels got bent? That sucks! I think it's a good idea to have a spare set of wheels though. Especially here in LA. The uneven roads that are always under construction and the potholes are terrible. Have to drive super careful.

I don't have any stock rims. I just have custom wheels, which is Brabus IV 19" with black and stainless tip. Not sure if these are replica or real ones as I bought my car as used.

With stock wheels I have for other cars, I never had this bent problem even though I drive around LA.

By the way, is there a car meet in southern california? I am pretty new to this website, and I see lots of car meet for other cars/websites.

There was a couple meets last year... I didn't attend any.

You'd probably expect to around $100 to get the wheel fixed. Not sure about the turn around time. Air leaking from a tire is such a nuisance, hope you get it fixed soon.
