Is it a ***** to get into fogs for the recent CLKS? Like, can I drive up onto my ramps and access them, or do I have to take off the wheel and **** with the "please don't break" clips?

Pretty easy to access them, just drive em up the ramps and remove the panels from underneath.

Hey guys,

Looking for a little help here. I got my HID kit for my fogs, and was wondering what you did with the second set of wires that are running through the rubber plug. Did you just clip them off?

Arrrgh, nevermind, I'm still an idiot. Do not attempt to install or understand HIDs on muscle relaxers.

I don't need viagra -- I already have a boner for my car.

Need some help here, as I don't want to eff anything up.

The attached are the 6000K bulb for my Bi-X replacement.

Questions:

1) The plastic cover over the bulb -- is that just discarded. Likewise, for the H11 install for my fogs, do I need to get rid of those covers?

2) Does anyone know what the little black gasket-type thing taped to the bottom is for?

Thanks guys.

The plastic cover I guess you can throw it out as it's just preventing the bulb from being damaged. The black gasket thing should go around the base of the bulb. I believe it helps lock the bulb in place though I might be wrong.

Just remove your headlight bulbs and compare the 2 HID bulbs then you would know exactly what it need to be transfer from your old bulb to the new bulb. Dude......it as easy as 1+1=4

On mine D1S HID bulbs, you don't need the black ring that came with the bulbs. Just transfer the mechanism locking ring from your old bulb to the new bulb. Make sure the locking ring is EXACT in the same position when transfer over the new bulb. Just line up the 2 bulbs before you remove the locking ring from your old one.

Do you guys have one of those twist-off covers over your fogs, or is just open air? I'm trying to figure out where the plug would go.

If you read my pass post, you would know it an H7 not H11. And even if you got the H7, you would still wouldn't know how to lock the bulb into the housing. So find my past post with pictures of my own design "lock ring".

Thanks guys.

That cover was design to hold the bulb in place but it didn't work on mine good enough and so I design my own "lock ring" and I also able to used the cover on mine to seal from water.

lol, I found THAT -- I was looking for a write-up or something. Kind of disappointed -- somehow thought these were going to be plug and play -- didn't know I'd have to break out the dremel! It looks like you took your whole fog light assembly out to do the project? Was it difficult?

It is plug-n-play for those foglight housing that use the locking clip. Nothing is difficult for me when it come to modding car.

I mean, as I look at those pics, it doesn't seem that difficult -- I just don't want to **** up one of the harnesses and have to buy a new one for how ever many billions of dollars Benz would charge for it. Did you glue or silicone the little clear base from the bulb cover to the piece of the harness that you cut?

I don't understand what you're said. I didn't cut any "harness".

Eh, not the harness, but the piece that the bulb plugs into.
