anybody raced E92 M3 with their CLK550?
OP, try to get a video for us
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I can make this car slide out, ****** second and chirp third gear far easier than the E46 Ms. You can't get a feel for a car from a test drive, especially with this car. Now this is where you guys get mad at me... cause not only does this car perform, but as a drivers car, it out performs just about any MB. Not drag racing mind you, cause AMG makes some SICK motors; but as a drivers car, there isn't much of a comparison. I'm happy to ablige if you really want to see how "weak" this car is.... next time you're in tampa.... ??

Edit: before anyone gets all upset, Chris and i know of each other from a florida based forum.
There are a few cool people here on Mbworld but blind fanboys like yourself are sad to see.
It doesn't perform? The freaking thing has run 11's and low 12's with just bolt on's. It has trapped 114 stock. It will run circles around you on the track.
It dynos more to the wheels and weighs less with a much faster transmission, I mean, is this really difficult?
It isn't even a race, and if you were not on the other side of the country you would get a reality check:

Post your 60-130 numbers.
Post your dyno numbers
Post your slip.
I can park next to plenty of cars and say I trounced them as well. LOL, are you serious with this? Let me guess, you beat the plane too? You really think anyone believes you?
No sense in arguing if you beat someone or not. That's the great thing about car racing.... people have to drive; sometimes people don't know how to drive.
Buuuutttttttt just for arguments sake....
we've got 2 cars that weight about the same. one is automatic (right?) with 382hp @ 6000 rpm and 392tq @ 2800 rpm. The other is manual or DCT with 416 hp @ 8300 rpm and 295tq @ 3900 rpm. That's what is black and white. What isn't told in those numbers are the M3's gearing which actually provides more tq in 1st and 2nd gear than the current corvette. if you had said you won 4 races from 0 to 60 i would say yeah, should be a close race, but 40 to 120 i'm not buying. The M3 may only have 295tq but it has a very flat tq curve. The benz, not so much, it peaks at 2800 and falls sharply like most large displaced motors. The M3 has 90% of peak tq at 8300 rpm. This means this car has legs, long ones. It can stay in gear longer, with more hp and more tq than the benz. that being said, i've never raced one so this to me is all theory. But a theory i'll believe until someone with a clk550 spanks me from 40 to 120.
I did race someone with a MB this past friday. i didn't see what model it was, the guy had a trophy wife (which is why i wasn't looking at the car) but he jumped off the light unexpectedly; i spun, feathered off, finally got in second, spun half of that, hooked up and i was about 2 lengths in front when i hit 3rd, by the time i hit 4th i was train lengths ahead. However, it could have been a C32 for that matter, but it did look larger.

If you read the original post i was just asking if anybody else had the same experience.
You saying photos dont prove anything i am not trying to. I just thought i show the actual cars.
Filming a race would not prove anything....
I am sure you would say that the M3 was not racing.
But as I said: Anytime you want to go for a run, bring it!

Filming the race would not prove anything? What? You mean actual evidence of what actually happened would not prove anything?
No offense, your 550 is not worth my time, even when I had bolt on's, but I'm sure there are M3 owners in your area who would be more than happy to show you how it really is.
All the real world evidence, 1/4 mile times, 60-130 numbers, actual facts, show that your story is... just a story.

I though I explained why a video might be not sufficient enough to prove anything.
If 550 not worth your time why are you even replying to CLK forum threads
? lol
Lighten up man!
Why? Because forums are a source of information and you should be providing the correct information not tall tales.
A video won't prove anything? Uh, ok. I guess timeslips, dynos, and 60-130's won't either.
I think you may need to relax bad
I agree.

Yes, M3 beats CLK on track by far
Yes CLK tops out at 133Mph
But all I was saying is that CLK 550 beats M3 in a rolling start drag race.
I am not even trying to prove anything I am just trying to see if others had the same experiences.
