Good Price?

Hey Guys,

Do you think this is a good deal?
2004 CLK 500 Convertible with AMG package
78,000 miles
No extended warranty
Excellent condition
They are asking $20,000.00

What do you think? Thanks for your input.

seems to be a good deal. is that 20 out the door or before tax/title/license?

i'm seeing 2004 clk500 coupes with 80-85k miles going for 20k at local dealers.

That's before tax and title. Seller is a local dealer.

try for 21k out the door, or even 20k if you wish.

Where did you buys yours from? That's a great deal. I'm from Chicago and I didn't think you could get them that low.

thats a rip off in my opinion, there are 03-04 clk55's on autotrader ranging from 14k-20k. I paid 19k for my clk 3 years ago with way less miles than that. 03-04 clk500 are going for 10-12k. Here is one example of a 55:

That 55 is pretty bare...no nav, no xenons, no bluetooth no keyless go. add those options and its way more than 19k. not to mention is has the old 5speed. My 500 came fully loaded with every option for 23k.

yeah all with no options....id rather have the bi-xenons, nav, keyless go, and bluetooth and just do some performance mods to gain another 60hp.

I can respect ur opinion, my opinion I'd rather take the amg and add power to that along with a aftermarket nav system/speakers

i think prices fluctuate in different geographic locations.

I noticed that a lot of CLK500/55s are cheaper in places like Houston than they are in Los Angeles or San Francisco.

Please take that into consideration

I paid $26,500 at the Mercedes Benz of Greenway Houston, TX. Got it 2 months ago. Mine is 2006 CLK500 Convertible with only 32k miles. It's Certified Pre-Owned with extended warranty. Also at that time had the special rate for 1.99% for 66 months. The car is in perfect condition, not even a scratch on it. The dealership lost $1500 on the car. I beated their *** on the price.

Remember, try to buy your Mercedes from the Mercedes Benz dealership, there are so many junks out there. Also before you buy, call the Mercedes dealership service department with the VIN of the car you wanna buy and ask them to run the VIN for the service record. It will save you some troubles for later on.

I used to work at that Greenway Mercedes and I had seen so many "clean" looking Mercedes with lots of problems, the cars we can not "certifed", we'll sell the car to auctions or to "Texas Direct Auto, NEXCESS, EXPO Motor cars", these are the so call "WHOLESALE" car dealerships. Junk cars !! Just becareful, and make sure there is NO paint work on the car.

Wish you luck !!

Your price is good not great, I doubt the dealer lost money on the car. You can get a good car for a good price outside the Mercedes dealership
a pre- purchase inspection is key. Also a autocheck by experian is the way to go... Carfax sucks.

Turns out my friend did buy the car. 20K plus tax. He really likes the car and is very happy with it. That's what it's all about.
