CLK acceleration potential

I was spending months thinkin about a new car, i wanted a big v8, in a small car, without it being too hardcore(aka is-f, amg, m3) because i need a car everyday, Lo and behold i discovered the clk 550. Looking at car and driver testing the 0-60 on the cls550 at 4.7, the clk 550 being 400 pounds lighter should get it into the 4.4-4.5 range, what do you guys think, I feel like the clk coupe has been overlooked sleeper car, how would you guys rate the handling, i test drove it and put a deposit on it, just waiting for financing.

i really like my CLK550, but i do have to say the handling isnt that great. definitely a lot of power, enough to have your traction light flashing at you most of the time. i doubt the 0-60 time is in the 4.5 range, maybe more like a 4.8-5.0, at best.

I just got one myself. The stock handling is kinda crappy, and the brakes are like stepping on pillows. I think he car is designed for comfort. The acceleration is incredible though, so I think simply by upgrading the suspension and brakes, it would make it pretty sick.

2007 CLK 550 Cab
I bought a 550 cabriolet a couple of months ago. I'm sure the handling is not as good as the coupe, but I think the car is intended as a mini grand tourer rather than as a sports or muscle car - which suits me because I'm an old fart. It's much more comfortable than the BMWs I tested, but the handling is nowhere near as taught. I think the cab's 0-60 time is 5.2. I disagree about the brakes though - they feel kind of squishy, but man do they stop the car.

CLK 550
I just got the one with the sports suspension , I really wanted something crazy like an IS-f or c63, but i wanted everyday comfort as well, plus i told my wife this was our family car so it has to comfortable (basically can't do the souped up cars because of their unforgiving suspension) car and driver tested the cls 550 to do 0-60 in 4.7 so i think the clk will probably will be right there, since its a lot lighter. Car and driver gets the best times out of the car,
